Promotion

We made a poster and posted it on Facebook in order to promote our product and create hype for it.
This was edited in Adobe Photoshop CS6 by simply adjusting its contrast and adding text to it.The reason we chose this picture was its intense and dramatic look and since audiences are attracted more to something that creates a suspense and curiosity that is why we chose this for our poster.

Ancillary Task: Digipak(Final)

When we made this digipak our teacher pointed out some mistakes in this and hence we were asked to make some changes in the digipak. Firstly the names of the members and actors had to be removed and we were asked to add the name of the song as well as our artist to it. Furthermore we were also asked to add the duration of the song along with the name of the song.
Hence after making these changes as you can see in the picture, i transferred the rights from the inside to the back of our digipak and changed the place of the barcode by placing it in the lower left corner as now there was space available there.

 After the website was done we started working on the digipak. We made sure that the theme of the website, digipak and the music video compliment one another and all these things could get linked to the life of our artist.

 We started with downloading the template for the digipak 1st.

We chose this picture for the inside of the digipak and edited it in Adobe Photoshop by simply going to the adjustments and then black and white. After the picture was made black and white we made some further adjustments by reducing the percentage of red, green and yellow to make it look darker and intense.

 After the picture was edited we selected the picture and then copied it. After that we opened the template and pasted it into it by simply going to the option of edit, and then paste special and then selecting paste into. We then adjusted the picture into the template. For making the hole inside the CD we simply chose rectangle tool and then selecting elliptical marquee tool. And then making a circle inside the CD we just deleted that part of the picture.

For the front outside we chose this picture and edited it simply by just adjusting its brightness and contrast.

 We then followed the same procedure as we did for the previous picture, pasted it into the template and then adjusted it. As this was the front of the digipak we added the title of the song to it. The picture, style of the text and color was inspired by Lana Del Rey's "BORN TO DIE".

This was the picture we chose for the back outside of our digipak. We merged two pictures into one. The picture of our female actress being portrayed as the visual representation of the boy's happiness and the object that represents her presence that is the windchime.

Same procedure was followed for this picture as well. Copied and pasted and then adjusted. Then we added the names of our members and actors to the back. 

 This was the last picture we chose for the inside left of our digipak. I edited this picture in Photoshop by simply adjusting the colors with Color Balance and adjusting the contrast of it. Followed the same procedure again. Copied, pasted and then adjusted it.Furthermore I also added the conventional all rights reserved to the right side vertically written with white text as it was matching the overall theme as well as it was standing out on the picture and was visible.

In the end we just added the conventional bar code and DVD logo to it. The reason why i chose to add the bar code to the top right is that there was space there and in my opinion it looked the best there rather the lower left. Furthermore the reason why I pasted the DVD logo to the top centre rather than the conventional lower centre is that there was some negative space at the top and as I had added the signature of our artist in the lower center of our digipak I wanted the emphasis to be completely on the name of our artist.

After we made our website we showed it to our teacher and received a lot of criticism for it that it was too plain and lacked content and the music video was at the end of the page where it should have been on the front to catch attention. Hence in order to make it look fuller we added more pages to it like about, music, gallery, contact and tour. However we kept the theme of our website the same.

Starting with the homepage. We removed the news and the video from it and only kept the title of the website as well as the name of the song on it. The reason we kept only this information on the homepage is that as I was doing research on websites I observed that many artists had only their names on the homepage for example Beyonce.

We added another page "About" in which we included the basic information of our artist as well as his albums.

We also added "Music" in which we uploaded our music video so that when the audience or the examiners open it their focus is solely on the music video. As our teacher had previously pointed out that it should catch attention.

In "Gallery" we added pictures of Ibrahim as well as Sbbaa who was being represented as a spiritual character in our music video so the audience can see the pictures and relate them to the music video.

In "Tour" we kept the same information as in our previous website where it was titled under News as basically the news was telling us about where the artist is touring and will be going.

Lastly we added "Contact" which would allow our audiences as well as the people who want to book our artist for a performance to contact with him. That is the reason we kept the option of "subject" to distinguish between fan mail and official bookings. We later on added a social bar as well that would allow our audiences to keep in touch with our artist on the social media.

After making our email address we made our artist's website on wix.com. 

 We chose the category of Music and solo artist.

 There was a wide range of templates available. 

 This was the template we chose as it was according to how we wanted our website to be after looking at the websites of different artists and singers.  We chose the theme of black and white as most of our music video is in black and white and it also denotes what we showed in our music video that is the social problem of depression.

I edited this picture in Adobe Photoshop CS6. I went on to "image" and chose "adjustments" and clicked on "black and white". As the menu appeared I made a few changes in the intensity of black and white by reducing the percentage of red, yellow and green. Mostly of red.
 The main aim of editing it and making it black and white was so that the theme of our music video as well as our website compliment one another.

Research on website

In order to make a website for our artist, we first decided to do some research on different types of websites to know about the styles and themes available so we're able to chose the perfect one.
These are the artists who's websites we liked the most.

Editing continues

Here we are doing the color correction by connecting our laptop with a television so we get a more clearer and high defination look at our music video.

Compilation and Editing

The compilation was done as the scenes were shot.
However for the editing In Adobe Premiere we used cuts and dib to white transitions. Furthermore, we also used cinematic crops to give our music video a professional wide screen look. Moreover, we used rate stretch tool for slowmotion and warp stabilizer to stabilize some of the handheld shots.
We used After Effects to mask out the female actor who we were portraying as the visual representation of the boy's happiness. Hence, the reason behind masking her out was that everything will be in monochrome showing the depressed life of the boy but she will be in color as she is the visual representation of the boy's happiness.
